Health Breast Cancer and Medical Terminology Questions

Discussions2

Health Breast Cancer Study Case
study case
Lourdes Austen arrives at Inner City Health Care for her annual physical examination. It has been one year since Lourdes had surgery to remove a tumor in her breast by lumpectomy with axillary lymph node dissection, followed by a course of radiation. Lourdes’s 1-year mammogram and follow-up examination with her surgeon and radiologist find no evidence of a recurrence of the cancer . Lourdes is a single woman in her late 30s . As Dr. King begins the routine physical examination, assisted by Nancy McFarland, RMA (AMT), Lourdes begins to cry. “I’m so happy to be alive,” Lourdes says. “And so afraid of the cancer coming back. But I want to celebrate life . I’ve talked to my boyfriend about it and we want to get pregnant. What should I do ?” King takes Lourdes’s hand. “I know that living with cancer is hard. You are doing well. There are many things to consider….” © 2018 Cengage Learning. All Rights Reserved .
