The aspects of atmospheric perspective are utilized in art to create the illusion of distance, such as object size, contrast, and intricacy. Your drawing for art assignment #3 is a landscape that you created on-site and included these features to show distance. No photographs created by a computer are permitted. If you require feedback, we can set up a time to meet in my office, or you can contact me with any questions. It would also be beneficial to complete the optional reading assignment specified in the curriculum. I’ve also included examples of previous student work.
Also, keep in mind that any drawings you do in addition to the three compulsory ones will be considered extra credit. Any additional drawings can be submitted with any of the three compulsory art assignments. Of course, they will not be worth the same number of points, but they are worthwhile to complete and will provide you with great sketching practice. If you do not submit your extra drawings with this, your last art assignment, you will have one more chance in the week 11 module, where there is a submission site specifically for your extra credit drawings at the bottom.
You must create your own drawings rather than downloading them from the internet. This is considered plagiarism and will not be accepted. Furthermore, doing so violates the entire point of the assignments, which is to experience the process of making art regardless of talent level. Again, I only score you on time, effort, and whether or not the drawing contains the elements required for that task, such as a landscape demonstrating distance. If you plagiarize an image, you will receive a zero on all three tasks, and the college will be notified.
You can save your image to your computer by photographing or scanning it. You can upload your drawing as a jpg or pdf when submitting it. The maximum file size in Canvas is 20MB. Before scanning or photographing your drawings, make sure you sign or initial them.
