Description
The proposal should be approximately 2500 words and include the following:
An introduction with a clear, concise statement of your research question (Note: it is acceptable for this this research question to have evolved over the semester); Be sure to explain to the reader why this research question is timely, relevant, and warrants exploration.
A review of the existing literature on this question and a discussion of how your research will add to that literature; This section will leverage your Annotated Bibliography and should be a fully integrated, essay format (e.g. copy/pasting the Annotated Bibliography entries is inadequate for this assignment.
A preliminary results or methodological preparation section, reflecting what you learned from your Qualitative Data Analysis assignment that would inform this proposed research study.
A proposed research section that outlines a specific, achievable research plan, including an explanation of why this research methodology is the best possible way to answer your specific research question (citations from the text are appropriate in this section), realistic details on how you will gain access to your research site/interviewees/survey data, how you will collect and analyze the data (e.g. what questions will you include on surveys, in interview protocols, etc. and what strategies will you employ to analyze the data).
A limitations and challenges section that discusses anticipated and/or possible challenges and limitations of the study; Explain how you plan to overcome these challenges and/or why they are not fatal flaws in your research design.
A conclusion explaining how the results of your research will add to the discipline of leadership studies and benefit society in a meaningful way.
