Many of these chapters discuss the importance of record-keeping in health care. Records are kept for many events in a hospital: birth, deaths, consent forms, acknowledgments, communicable diseases, and treatment plans. Why is this such an important issue of legality? Can you think of a scenario in the health care scenario that would be adversely affected by lack of good records?
