Description
Students will submit a 700-1050 word (approx. 2-3 pages) draft during Week 2, 3, and 4. Drafts will be in APA 6th edition format (title page, abstract, body, and references) and answer specific questions that pertain to the components of a research study (see Research Critique Paper guidelines below).
Papers will be returned weekly with written feedback by the instructor about appropriateness and clarity of the response and whether the correct APA format was met. Students will utilize the knowledge obtained from the course and the instructors comments to combine the previous 3 weekly drafts into a final 2100-2800 word (approx. 6-8 pages) critique.

Assignment 1 – Draft 1 content due by the end of Week 2:
The Researcher
Who is the researcher?
What qualifies him/her to undertake the study?
Who sponsored the research and/or provided sources of funding?
The Title

Assignment 1 – Final Paper due by end of Week 6
The final paper for Assignment 1 must be written in APA format and include:
Title Page
Abstract: What should the reader expect to find in your paper? This should be a brief paragraph of approximately 3-5 sentences.
Body:
Utilizing the comments provided by your instructor and your textbook as a guideline, combine the revisions of all three drafts to culminate into one succinct critique of your chosen research article.
The body of the final critique should be 2100-2800 words (approx. 6-8 pages).
To avoid point deductions you must address all 15 components of a research critique as outlined above.
Reference page: This should include the article being critiqued and any sources you used to support your analysis of the article.
This article should be cited in the text in the introduction of your paper. Other sources:
Examples – If you used your textbook as a reference to support your ideas or decision regarding the appropriateness of the methodology used in the article, you should cite Fain in the text of the paper and then include as a complete reference on the reference page.
