In this regard, using a tracking system is a solution that presents an opportunity to enhance services and care within a healthcare organization. A study by Yoo et al. (2018)
found that the use of real-time equipment tracking systems introduced by a hospital was rated by nurses as helpful and moderately successful. Moreover, Bluetooth Low Energy(BLE)/Wi-Fi asset tracking system used during the study is considered a widely used low-cost solution (Yoo et al., 2016). Therefore, BLE-based equipment tracking
system can be considered an efficient solution for addressing the identified gap a lack of technology to locate and track the equipment within a healthcare organization.
Prior to considering implementing BLE tracking system, it is worth taking a close look at start up cost, operating cost, and revenue associated with the use of this system. For

implementing a 1,000-unit BLE-based asset tracking system is around $11,900, first-year costs of implementing RFID-based tracking system can easily reach $39,000 (Augur,
2017). Therefore, based on the comparative analysis of implementation and operating costs, BLE asset tracking solution can be considered a cost-efficient project.
