Vogt introduces the “Quantitative Report Critique Checklist” in his book Quantitative Research Methods for Professionals (p. 300). You will be asked to answer some of the questions from the checklist in order to examine an empirical study for this discussion. The questions from the checklist that you must answer are mentioned below.
Start by reading the Grant and Berry 2011 article from this unit’s study to conclude this conversation (also linked in the Resources). Using three separate empirical investigations, this article on motivation and creativity investigates a number of variables. For one of these studies, answer the following “questions regarding variables”:
What’s the name of the dependent variable?
What are the variables that are independent?
What intervening or mediating variables have been identified?
How are any control factors taken into account?
What are the definitions and measurements for each variable?
Do you believe the variable definitions and measurements are adequate for this study?
Make a note of which empirical study you used to support your argument.
