- Part 1: Description of the underlying problem: Legislation is typically introduced to address a perceived problem. What problem is your bill attempting to address? Provide background and statistical information that elucidates the causes, scope, dynamics and trends relevant to the underlying problem as well as who is impacted by the problem and how. - Part 2: Summary and status of current bill: If there is a bill/law/policy already in place that you would like to amend or replace- provide a summary of the history and status of the current bill/law/policy. How would the amendment or replacement change current policy? Section Due October 29, 2019
If there is no bill/law/policy related to your public policy focus, describe the bill you would present. Summarize the bill’s major provisions. What would the bill do? Has this or a similar bill been introduced before? How would it change current policy? Are there any current bills it would replace?
