Assignment on Nursing Evidence and Practice
This course’s assignments build on one other. Assignment 1 expands on the student’s PICOT question from Week 1 of the discussion board, which was approved by the instructor. This course’s PICOT format is an intervention question. Nursing interventions must be used rather than medical interventions. There are no PICOT questions that are identical.
Formulating a burning PICOT question is step one (1) in the evidence-based practice (EBP) process. Step two considers the aspects of the PICOT issue to find the best scientific evidence (external evidence).
Criteria for the assignment:
Students will write a research paper that meets the standards listed below.
1. Describe the clinical or administrative issue associated with the PICOT question that was developed and authorized in Week 1.
In the intervention format, formulate the PICOT question.
Describe why the issue is critical to nursing practice.
Talk about the intervention you’ve chosen.
Describe how the intervention might affect the specified outcome.
2. Before executing the intervention, discuss two (2) challenges that a master’s prepared nurse might face.
3. Consider two (2) different approaches to overcoming those obstacles.
4. Determine two (2) criteria for inclusion and two (2) criteria for exclusion in the evidence analysis.
5. Identify the databases and key terms used to start the search (e.g., CINAHL, Medline).
6. The scholarly paper should be four to five pages in length, excluding the title and reference pages.
7. Include an introduction, a statement of aim, and a conclusion.
8. Use level 1 and level 2 headings to help structure your paper.
9. Write the paper in the third person, not the first (i.e., don’t use the words “we” or “I”), and in a scholarly style. To be clear, the words “I,” “we,” “you,” “my,” and “our” are not permitted. Furthermore, you should avoid referring to yourself as a researcher or an author.
10. Support the paper with at least three (3) references from professional peer-reviewed nursing journals. References should come from scientific peer-reviewed journals that are fewer than five (5) years old (see Ulrich Periodical Directory).
11. Use APA format (pay attention to spelling and punctuation, include a title page, reference page, and in-text citations).
12. Before submitting the final version of the assignment, submit it to Turnitin. Please double-check the originality report and make any necessary adjustments.
13. Submit by the deadline.
