This semester you have reflected on several developmental stages (prenatal, early childhood, middle childhood, adolescence, early adulthood, and late adulthood). Using previously submitted Journals, you are now asked to write your life story reflecting on your personal development.
Write a 4-page paper reflecting on your personal development.
(1) Begin with an introduction that features a strong opening statement indicating who you are and which life experiences have shaped who you are. Are there people in your life who have impacted you either positively or negatively? Are there factors from your early beginnings through today that have impacted you? Think about your family, your personality, likes and dislikes, goals and aspirations, any life changing experiences.
(2) Support your opening statement in the body of the essay by relaying a first person narrative of your experience, highlighting 4 key moments in your development. Tell YOUR story in chronological order. In your reflection, describe the top 4 moments in your life that have impacted who you are to date. You will probably have more than 4, but I want you to limit this assignment to the TOP 4. Are there things that impacted positively on your life? Were there any challenging moments in your life where you can now reflect and realize you learned from the experience?
(3) Conclude your paper by providing final thoughts on your development and offer closing reflective thoughts. Reflect on what you believe your future holds. Have you learned anything about yourself? Have any experiences changed you? Are there successes, challenges, or areas where you are still a ‘work in progress’? Have there been any “AHA” moments now that you’ve taken a moment to reflect on YOU? Are there things you may now change knowing your life goals and where you want your life to culminate?
Write in the first person, remember, this is YOUR self-reflection.
