B #3 Dispute
Directions for the DB #3 Conflict Discussion Thread:
Create a new discussion thread with the heading “Your Name: Discussion #3” that completely responds and investigates the question below. Review the Week 1 guidelines for a refresher on discussion thread requirements and grading criteria.
Discussion #3 Prompt: After re-reading the section of Chapter 6 that examines conflict (6.2), provide a media-based example of conflict. Find a scene from a TV program or a movie that demonstrates interpersonal strife. You have two options for this discussion board only:
Option 1: Share a link to a conflict scene clip. Then tell us from which TV show or film it comes. Explain what’s going on in this scene and why it’s an example of interpersonal conflict. In this example, what conflict style (or styles) do you see? Do you have any other thoughts you’d want to share? Use vocabulary from our text and make at least one reference to our book in your work. There is no word length requirement for this debate if you choose this option (posting a clip) and fully answer the questions above. Thursday night is the deadline.
Option 2: Describe a conflict-filled scenario from a TV show or movie. Please tell us the TV show or film it is from. Describe what happened in the scene in detail and why it shows interpersonal tension. What type of conflict (or types of conflict) was used? Do you have any other thoughts you’d want to share? At least once in your writing, use vocabulary from our text references our book. If you choose this option (describe a scene without including a video clip), make sure your post is at least 200 words long. We need to be able to visualize the situation you’re describing as well as comprehend your perspective on it.
