Description
Final Instructor Points Reflection Topic:
Write an essay that responds to the following prompt in an essay of approximately 400-500 words.
Think about all of the writing and reading you have done this semester, not only in this class but in all of your others. Think about not only the essays you have written, the projects you have written up, but also about the emails, the WhatsApps, and the journal entries which were also part of your process.
Write an essay that describes what you have learned about yourself as a writer. Your thesis should be a brief statement of how you see yourself developing as a reader and writer.
You can develop your thesis in several ways. For example, you can explore questions such as: What is your own writing and research process like? What sort of writing do you feel you excel at and why? What was your favorite genre and why? Which genre or which part of the process for any essay posed the greatest challenges and why? Develop your idea with specific examples from your semesters reading and writingthe journal. The purpose is to give a clear picture of yourself in the reading and writing process.
Specifications:
· Introduction and thesis (2-3 sentences max.)
· Conclusion (1 sentence max)
· 2-3 body paragraphs
· You will need to refer to three examples from your journals, in addition to any other examples you wish to draw upon to make your self-reflection vivid.
· Use the Gibbs or the more simplified What? So what? Now what model as you develop your body paragraphs.
instructor fead back:
My general feedback is that the supporting ideas in your body paragraph are very specific, which is good, but your thesis statement needs to capture your main idea. At the moment, your thesis statement is more like the example from class instead of capturing the main idea that you develop in your body paragraphs. There needs to be a bit more description of your assignments and discussion of future action.
You will need to edit for word forms challenging the adjective vs. challenges noun, for example. There is one incomplete sentence (fragment). It is the sentence beginning with Especially. Can you complete it by attaching it to the previous sentence?
