How is this list drawn up?
[There is no need to subscribe to College Compass, for which you have to pay, at the site. The free information at the site is adequate for our purposes.] Then, read two additional articles (in established journals or magazines; not on random websites or blogs. No random Google searches), using ProQuest or Ebscohost or JSTOR, on the subject of ranking colleges generally or specifically about the annual rankings published by US News and World Report. Take detailed and systematic notes throughout your research.
Then, write an essay in which you first describe briefly the process of ranking colleges and then discuss whether or not you support this type of ranking of colleges, particularly West Los Angeles College. Do consider the arguments of the opposing side and respond to them. Support your position with clear reasons and specific evidence.
