Your supervisor just announced that you and a colleague, Bruce, will have an opportunity to meet with the company’s CEO in two hours to deliver a presentation on your team’s current project. Due to the short notice, Bruce believes your presentation should be an impromptu speech, delivered without notes or plan. You believe your presentation should be written out word for word and read to the audience.
Under these circumstances, how would you use your relationship building skills to collaborate with Bruce and resolve your differences in opinion? Please select one option below and thoroughly explain why.

I would use my relationship-building skills to collaborate with Bruce and resolve our differences in opinion by choosing option (a), communicating openly and effectively concerning my preference.
Meeting with the CEO under normal circumstances would require me to have fully prepared for the meeting. With this meeting being moved up to within a few hours, it would be in our best interest to write out what I will say. I would explain to Bruce how my speaking with the CEO, off the cuff, could be disastrous.
I would explain to Bruce that having my words prewritten would help me present the facts more clearly, stay on topic, and not overlook anything. I would also explain how I was not the type of person who could present information without some guidelines or detailed notes.
I would tell him that even with my notes, I would maintain eye contact and have something in my hands to stop the nervous movements I sometimes have, and since I do not have much time to rehearse, I will sound more professional.
