Instructions:
The Relationship Between EBP And The Quadruple Objective
Healthcare businesses are always looking for ways to improve their performance. For years, the Triple Aim method was adopted, with efforts focusing on improving population health, improving patient experience, and lowering healthcare costs.
This method has recently expanded to a Quadruple Aim, which includes an emphasis on enhancing healthcare providers’ work lives. Each of these metrics is influenced by organizational decisions, and organizations are increasingly using EBP to inform and justify these decisions.
How to Get Ready:
Read the articles in the Resources by Sikka, Morath, & Leape (2015), Crabtree, Brennan, Davis, & Coyle (2016), and Kim et al. (2016).
Consider how EBP may influence (or not influence) the Quadruple Aim in healthcare.
Consider how EBP might affect issues that affect these four goals, such as preventable medical errors or healthcare delivery.
Complete the following tasks:
Write a brief examination of the relationship between EBP and the Quadruple Aim (no more than 2 pages).
Your analysis should include each of the four metrics of how EBP might (or might not) help achieve the Quadruple Aim, as well as how EBP might (or might not) help achieve the Quadruple Aim.
Patient encounters
Costs of Population Health
Healthcare workers’ daily routines
